Inconvenience

So, Kaa-san took pictures. Lots of them. Granted, she took pictures of Liza, too, but she seemed to be taking extra ones of me.

“Leave the kid alone,” Mokuba-oji said, “It’s bad enough he has to suffer through your nostalgia, Ellie-nee.”

“Oh, just one more. I want to see what Ishizu says about it.” Kaa-san chirped. I think Liza snuck a few of her own. If those end up sent to Atemu…

When we finally got out the door (Kaa-san said we could walk, because Liza didn’t want to be driven or take the limo or anything like that), I pulled off the hat.

The party itself was rather impressive. All the grandeur of something high class with none of the social bearings. Of course, I only managed to notice that AFTER I had run away from all the girls chasing me trying to make me dance with them. And then, as one girl got particuarly close, it happened.

My phone rang, and I used it as an excuse to extract myself from all the girls, glancing down at my phone. It was Jo. Calling long distance from Domino, Japan. Well, when I picked up, she started in on me about how I’m never on anymore and am I ignoring her and what is my problem?! Typical Jo. Anyways, I’d just managed to get her calmed down and we were talking when one of those fangirls walked over and started cooing at me to come play with them all again or something of the sort.

Well, Jo heard, and I had to leave early. Dunno how Liza got home.

Goddamned temper

So. Apparently Rebecca-oba thinks my costume is funny. Actually, she and Mokuba-oji just sat there laughing when Kaa-san made me show them. Most humiliating experience in my life. Even worse then losing to Atemu. I obviously didn’t get the joke, which pissed me off. And so, I yelled at them.

Ugh. Shouldn’t it be the parents trying to keep their children from going to parties that are inevitably going to end up with a police raid rather then encouraging them to go?

At least Liza’s costume is half decent. Hm. Maybe I should change costumes halfway and show up as Kaibaman…or not. The press would really have a field day with that one. Frediuan issues and all that psychoanalysis.

Costumes. Seriously.

My Okasan is trying to kill me. I just learned that that party I got invited to and have to now take Liza to (although I’m hoping that someone will dub her too sick to go and I’ll be able to skip the wretched affair myself) is a costume party. Yes, a costume party. To be specific, a ‘time warp.’ I made the mistake of mentioning this to Kaa-san, who immediately got a wicked twinkle in her eye.

“Time warp, you say…?” She giggled, as Oto-sama winced visibly in the background.

“Ellie…” He said warningly, half glaring.

“Don’t give me that look, Seto! You know it would be perfect!” Her voice had reached that high pitched trill she sometimes did when she was really excited.  Then, I proceeded to be dragged out of the room by Kaa-san, while Oto-sama gave me a pitying look. Damn you, Oto-sama. Anyways, I proceeded to be measured and prodded for another half-hour, sent away, and called back, presented with a long, flowy, blue and white linen…thing. And hat. Large, pointy hat.

“Egyptian High Priest.” Kaa-san said smugly.

A party.

I’m going to a party. Great. I was going to skip it, but I just read Liza’s post, and it sounds like she wants to go, so now I have to go. Just great. Usually, I avoid the party scene, but it’s a new town. Might as well check out one new thing for the month or so I’m here. And evenwhen I do go, I never take Liza–not because I’m afraid of what people will think when I drag around my baby sister, but because high-school parties, American or Japanese or otherwise, tend to be wild affairs.

She would end up in the hospital again, I jsut know it. She has the bad luck of Kaa-san and the stubborness of Oto-sama. And she’ll never be serious about her limits, and neither will Kaa-san, so I have to be the sensible one and keep her from walking in front of a car or falling off a roof or whatever she manages to do to herself.

Kaa-san thinks it’s a good idea for her to get around more.

Kaa-san may be right, but this party is not the right time to encourage it.
